About Kate

Kate Tincher is a researcher at heart, storyteller by nature, and lifelong student of human behavior. Fascinated by the hidden forces that shape our lives, she explores psychology, true crime, ethics, history, creativity, and the emotional landscapes that make us who we are.

As co-host of Every Hidden Thing, Kate combines deep research with a curiosity about the human condition. She is drawn to questions without easy answers: Why do people believe what they believe? How does trauma ripple across generations? What stories do we tell ourselves to survive?

Whether examining psychological experiments, criminal investigations, historical events, or the nature of identity, shame, and belonging, Kate approaches each topic with curiosity, empathy, and skepticism.

Outside the podcast, she is a writer and world-builder who creates stories that explore many of the same themes that fascinate her in real life. She believes stories are among humanity’s most powerful tools for understanding ourselves and one another.
